Thieves will stop at nothing to get what you have. You can only do so much to protect yourself because there’s always something new to lookout for. Medical records used to be something that you could assume were safe and confidential. But with electronic medical records becoming required, that is opening a whole new can of worms.
Health Alert- SSRI’s and Violence
SSRI’s (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) are very popular these days. But, do antidepressant medications have a serious side effect? There is evidence that SSRI’s can lead to severe violent streaks. With so many kids taking them these days, what does that mean for our society?
What’s Your Story?
Everyone has an interesting story to tell. The key is to ask the right questions. Why are you interested in natural health? What types of things do you do differently than most people? If you were stranded on an island, what survival skill would you have down pat? What health and wellness knowledge do you wish more people had?
Whatever your story is, we’d love to have you share it with our print readers. Contact us today and let’s getting started spreading the knowledge.
It’s About Choices- Not Pressure
Veritas Wellness magazine is about choices. It’s not about telling you what you should do, and then making you feel bad for not doing it. This magazine is about giving you the information you need in order to make informed decisions. You may agree with many things and you may disagree with others- that’s okay. At least you have the information so that you can be a truly informed person.
Even if you disagree with something, it’s good to know the point of view of the person sitting on the other side of you. We are used to walking around with these one-sided views thinking it’s our mission to convince everyone in the world to agree with us. Why? That is so time consuming and energy draining. And personally, I do not get emotionally involved in other peoples personal choices. I have my opinions, I am going to stand by them- but I am not going to badger you into thinking the way I do.
Everyone is unique. We all have different life experiences, circumstances, and other things that we are bringing to the table. And we can all learn something from each other- even if it’s not necessarily in a positive way.
So I guess the take away message is that you have choices, you have options- don’t sit in the dark. Get to know what they are! Find out how people are staying healthy, and keeping their families healthy as well. Discover options that you may not have known existed. Find some peace and solidarity by reading about people who live their lives the way you do- very normal, but not quite mainstream. Get all of this and more by subscribing to Veritas Wellness magazine today.
You Have the Right to Eat Hot Dogs
A woman from Oak Park, Michigan is being threatened with jail time for growing a vegetable garden in her front yard. According to the city code, “all unpaved portions of the site shall be planted with grass or ground cover or shrubbery or other suitable live plant material.”
I guess in Oak Park, vegetables are not suitable material.
According to Julie Bass “We thought we’re minding our own business, doing something not ostentatious and certainly not obnoxious or nothing that is a blight on the neighborhood, so we didn’t think people would care very much.”
Well, they did care, and now things are just a ridiculous mess. With the cost of food going up, health problems soaring, and all this “Americans need more healthy foods” messaging; why in the world is it a possibility that someone could go to jail over healthy and affordable options for their family?
Watch this video. The attitude of the city planner is really telling. If you aren’t outraged, you aren’t paying attention.
Julie is blogging about the experience at oakparkhatesveggies.wordpress.com. Take a few minutes to read it to find out how you can support her.
